G Position

A side-by-side relationship of partners used as a starting position and continued only for the opening steps of a dance. Man may be either to the right or left of the team. If to the left, man clasps woman’s left hand in his right hand, with unclasped hands held to the side; if to the right, man clasps woman’s right hand in his left hand. Also referred to as the hand in hand position.
